The ripple effect starts with you. I alone cannot change a school or change the world. But I can cast the first pebble across the waters to create many ripples. When we focus on leading a passionate life, a passionate campus, a passionate school we area creating a ripple effect of inspiration in the lives around us.
Principal Principles blog is a great place for me to create my ripples on the world. When I created this blog, my goal was to share all my ideas of leadership with you. It has become so much more than that. I feel as though we are a community of leaders sharing our skills together. I am incredibly grateful. When I share stories of inspiration, you respond and share yourself with me in return. Therefore the ripple effect is happening.
While I hope you find what you’re looking for when you read this blog, I want you to know that I draw inspiration from you too.
Ripple effect on Leadership
With that all being said, let’s talk about how the ripple effect happens in your school under your leadership. It is obvious to say no matter how big or small the rock is, water will ripple. Likewise, no matter how big or small your decisions are, how soft or loud you speak to your teachers, etc… people are affected by it. The question of “what” kind of ripple effect do we want to spread across our campus. One of positiveness, innovation, and excitement? We are just one person. One principal. One school leader or inspiring-to-be leader. Our impact is great, but we are just one person. We have the opportunity to inspire hundreds by inspiring just one person today or just one grade level of teachers this week. Teachers will begin to pass that inspiration along to other teachers, to their students, to their parents and then the ripple continues again and again.
It’s amazing what can be accomplished when a group of people align their purpose and change it together. Begin a great ripple today! You never know how far your ripples may reach.
